Dear travelers, if you enjoy the sightseeing and listening to excursions in the crowd of the other tourists, if you think that the bus window commands the best view of the city, just write me an e-mail, I’ll give you the phone numbers of the best travel agencies in the city.
But, if you are looking for the other ways to see the city, if you want to know more and see the city through the eyes of local, I will be glad to offer you my private tours!
My tours can be walking or driving. They include the famous sights such as the Hermitage, the Peter and Paul’s fortress, the main Cathedrals, the beautiful suburbs: Peterhof, Pavlovsk, and Pushkin. But, what is the most important, I’m going to show to you what the agencies will never show.
You will learn Russian culture and history. You will hear interesting and funny stories and legends of the Northern capital. I’ll tell you how local people live here, what do they like and what don’t, what are their joys and problems. You may ask as many questions as you wish, and I’ll be glad to answer all of them. The best award for my work is your interest. I’ll show you not just typical tourist places, but also a maze of old residential lanes and back yards hidden behind the neon lights of fancy shopping streets.
If you enjoy Dostoevsky’s novels, we will follow the steps of The Crime and Punishment heroes. If you are interested in the history of Russian Soviet period, learn the history of the Great October Socialist Revolution. – Lenin, battleship Aurora, the take-over of the Winter Palace and other stories.
If your favourite daytime is night, be sure I know all the best bars and clubs. Of course, it’s impossible to visit Russia and not to taste Russian food. I’ll show you the best restaurants with the tastiest Russian dishes! If you have enough time in St. Petersburg, it would be nice to visit Russian banya and surroundings of the city. If you have any special desires, I’ll do everything to make them come true. Because I’m happy just when my guest is happy!
My special tours:
Country house. In the winter it’s nice to rent a house on the ski resort. It’s great experience to try Russian banya (sauna) there. After it you have to rub your body with snow. It is so crisp! And the very brave people may try to make a dive to icy-cold lake. Due to Russian tradition when in winter people go to banya, which is hot like sauna but the air inside is wet, they stream themselves or each other by birch branches, and after they feel too hot, so they run to the lake and dive to the icy-cold water. They repeat this procedure several times. Russian banya is very nice to relax and the feeling after is great! As for me, I enjoy banya very much and visit it ones a week.
I may also organise a trip to the Russian village. In summer you may rent a house at a lake. It’s nice to try fishing, preparing of barbecue, berries or mushroom picking, horse-riding and so on.
Dostoevsky tour. For those who love our great writer. We will follow the steps of Dostevsky's "Crime and Punishment" Characters.
Jazz boat trip. I give this tour usualy after excursion in the Hermitage museum. This is 2 hours tour on the ship with live jazz music on the board, It floats through the Neva river and then steam in the Galf of Finland. During this trip you will enjoy beautiful view of the city, live music and wide choise of drinks.
My prices
My prices depend on the quantity of people. If you are a group of 1-3 people, I would regard 100 Euro per day, or 10 Euro per hour for the short tours. If you group of more than 3 people, I ask 3 Euro for each of you per hour.
Besides I have comfortable air conditioned car Mitsubishi Galant. For my driving services I regard 5 Euro per hour.
